Firefighting Robot By U.S. Navy
Using two infrared cameras, the robot(octavia) is able to localize the fire, allowing her to target it with the compressed air/water backpack.
U.S. Navy’s researches an wing unveiled Octavia, a firefighting robot built to work along with human firefighters and put out fires using compressed air/water. Octavia is a MDS (Mobile, Dexterous, Social) robot.
Using two infrared cameras, the robot(octavia) is able to localize the fire, allowing her to target it with the compressed air/water backpack.
The instructions have been taken as voice commands and sign language from human.An Infrared camera has been used to see the fire and sense and then extinguishes.It has a backpack of pressurized air and water.
